The European Conference on the Social Sciences (ECSS) is held annually alongside The European Conference on Sustainability, Energy & the Environment (ECSEE). Since 2013, around 500 delegates have attended this annual interdisciplinary event, which takes place in the UK each summer.

In 2016, ECSS/ECSEE attracted 141 attendees representing 39 countries – a truly international event. This diversity serves as a wonderful comparative and contrastive resource.

The majority of ECSS/ECSEE conference attendees are university faculty, with 52% holding an academic post. At 32% of the total registered delegates, postgraduate and doctoral students make up the next largest group of attendees.
